Bring patios, walkways, pool surrounds and gathering spaces together with a coordinated Belgard hardscape design.
Belgard patios and outdoor living, installed by CJ Pickering
CJ Pickering helps Massachusetts homeowners plan and install Belgard hardscapes around the way they use their property. Start with the spaces you need, then compare paving textures, borders, walls and finishing details as one design. A project consultation connects the material selection with access, drainage, existing grades and the full installation scope.
A Belgard project designed around your home
As a Belgard Master Craftsman, CJ Pickering brings detailed hardscape planning to your project. We help connect the patio or driveway you see in a design with the preparation, transitions and finishing work needed on your property.
Layout
Allow room for dining, seating, circulation and the connection to your doors or pool.
Material selection
Compare actual samples, the intended application and local availability before committing to a color or pattern.
Project scope
Identify demolition, grading, drainage, steps, walls and lighting alongside the paving itself.
Bring photos, approximate dimensions and a short list of priorities to your consultation. We can use those details to focus the design and prepare a project-specific proposal.
Planning your Belgard project
Choose the right Belgard product family
Belgard offers concrete pavers and slabs, porcelain paving, permeable options, wall systems, caps and coping. These categories solve different design needs. A driveway needs a product rated for vehicle use; a pool surround calls for careful attention to surface texture, coping and transitions.
Choose the application first, then narrow the look. A large-format patio, a traditional walkway and a curved seating area can require different shapes, cuts and supporting details. Check regional product availability before designing around a particular color.
Plan the outdoor room before the pattern
Sketch the furniture and activity areas before setting the patio perimeter. Consider the route from the kitchen, the space behind dining chairs, the position of a grill and how people will reach the lawn. A border can define these zones without adding a physical barrier.
For a larger project, discuss how walls, steps and lighting will connect with the paving. Planning their locations together helps identify elevation changes and utility needs before construction begins.
What affects the installed project cost?
Material is only one part of a Belgard installation estimate. The overall area, excavation access, existing surfaces, disposal, grading, drainage, base preparation and cutting all affect the scope. Walls, stairs, coping and outdoor kitchen features should be clearly identified rather than hidden inside a single paving allowance.
Compare proposals using the same layout and material selection. Ask what is included in site preparation, edge restraints, joints and restoration of disturbed areas, as well as how changes to the agreed design will be handled.
Understand maintenance and warranty coverage
Keep the product name, color and purchase information with your project records. Use the care guidance for that specific material when choosing cleaners or discussing sealing. Concrete and porcelain surfaces do not have identical maintenance requirements.
Belgard publishes a lifetime transferable limited warranty for qualifying products, subject to its written conditions. Product coverage and an installer’s workmanship coverage are separate. Review both for the proposed project, including the handling of replacement labor, before work begins.
Belgard: Can Belgard pavers be used for a driveway?
Selected Belgard concrete and permeable pavers are intended for driveway use. Confirm the exact product, thickness and installation requirements for vehicle loading. A patio product should not automatically be specified for a driveway.
Belgard: Can I combine a Belgard patio with walls or a fire feature?
Yes, those elements can be planned as one outdoor living project. Begin with the layout and elevations, then coordinate the wall face, cap, paving border and any utilities required for the selected feature.
Belgard: How do I choose a Belgard color?
Compare physical samples near your siding, steps and existing masonry in outdoor light. Look at the blend across several pieces, not just a small online swatch, and confirm availability for the selected product.
Belgard: Does a permeable paver fix every drainage problem?
No. Permeable paving is a complete system, including joints and the underlying aggregate layers. Suitability depends on the property and the drainage design; choosing a permeable-looking surface alone does not establish that the system will work.
Belgard: What should I send for a Belgard project estimate?
Share your town, photos of the area, rough dimensions, the intended use and any known access or drainage concerns. Include inspiration images and indicate whether steps, walls, lighting or other features are part of the same project.
