Cambridge Pavingstone Installation in Massachusetts

Compare Cambridge pavingstones with ArmorTec, coordinate borders and walls, and plan a hardscape that fits your property.

Cambridge pavingstones with ArmorTec for your next project

CJ Pickering installs Cambridge pavingstones for Massachusetts patios, walkways and driveways. The best starting point is a layout that works with your home, followed by a comparison of colors, textures and complementary details. We help bring the visible design together with the access, grading and drainage considerations that shape the installation.

Planning your Cambridge hardscape

A Cambridge patio can connect a back door, dining area and garden; a walkway or driveway can establish a clear approach to the home. Choosing the right proportions and transitions is as important to the finished appearance as choosing the pavingstone.

  • Samples

Compare color blends outdoors against the house and existing masonry.

  • Edges and transitions

Coordinate borders, steps and wall caps instead of choosing them independently.

  • Site preparation

Discuss removal, base preparation and water flow before finalizing the surface design.

CJ Pickering works with homeowners in Easton and surrounding Massachusetts communities. Share your location and project priorities so we can discuss the right scope for your property.

Planning your Cambridge project

What ArmorTec means for your pavingstones

ArmorTec is Cambridge’s factory-integrated pavingstone surface technology. Cambridge describes a dense surface made with fine sand and cement; it is manufactured into the pavingstone rather than applied later as a coating.

Treat the pavingstone, wall and cap as separate product selections. Cambridge notes that its wallstones are made without ArmorTec. A coordinated appearance does not mean every component has the same composition, installation detail or care requirement.

Design with patterns, borders and scale

A paving pattern should suit the dimensions of the space as well as the style of the house. Large open areas can accommodate a different rhythm than a narrow side walkway. Curves, columns and steps also change the amount of cutting and the way a border meets the main field.

Choose a primary paving blend, then consider a restrained contrasting border or accent. Review the overall arrangement with furniture and circulation paths in place so the finished surface supports everyday use.

Budget for the complete Cambridge installation

The installed cost depends on the selected pavingstone and the work beneath and around it. Existing concrete or asphalt removal, limited equipment access, changes in elevation, excavation, drainage, walls and stairs can all change the project scope.

A useful proposal identifies the planned area, pattern, border, preparation and finishing work. Confirm which surfaces or landscape areas will be restored and how any additional work discovered during excavation would be priced.

Care for the surface and keep the written warranty

Plan routine cleaning around the material actually installed. Follow Cambridge’s product guidance for stains and winter care, and discuss compatible cleaners before using an aggressive treatment. Surface appearance and structural performance are different considerations.

Cambridge publishes a transferable limited lifetime warranty for qualifying pavingstones and wallstones with proof of purchase. Its terms exclude replacement labor. Keep the written terms and confirm the separate installation coverage for your project.

Cambridge installation questions

Cambridge: Is ArmorTec a sealer applied after installation?

No. Cambridge describes ArmorTec as a surface mix manufactured into its pavingstones. It is different from an aftermarket sealer. Whether a separate sealer is appropriate should be discussed for the exact installed product.

Cambridge: Do Cambridge walls also have ArmorTec?

Cambridge states that its wallstones are made without ArmorTec. Select wall units, caps and pavingstones using their own specifications, even when the colors and textures are coordinated.

Cambridge: Can Cambridge pavingstones be used around a pool?

Review the product’s intended application, surface texture, coping and edge details for the pool design. The proposal should also address drainage and the transition from the surrounding yard to the paved pool area.

Cambridge: Will the installed color match a website photograph?

Use online photographs to narrow the style, then compare physical samples outdoors. Lighting, screens and the variation across a blend can change how a pavingstone appears. Confirm the actual selection before ordering.

Cambridge: What information helps CJ Pickering plan a Cambridge project?

Your town, site photographs, approximate area and desired use are a helpful start. Note any existing steps, downspouts, slopes or difficult access, and share the patterns or color combinations you are considering.
