Waterfront Bluestone Patio
At this Pembroke waterfront home, bluestone paving extends the living space beneath the porches and out toward the lawn. Covered areas provide room for shaded seating, while the open terrace places lounge chairs and conversation seating in front of the water. The broad lawn keeps the view open between the house and the shoreline.
The stonework also connects the different levels of the property. A wide flight of landscape steps rises through planted beds beside the house, with boulders and low shrubs softening its edges. Around the porch, rectangular stepping stones curve across the grass to a stone landing. A low, curved stone wall contains another planting bed near the approach.
Materials & Details
Rectangular bluestone slabs give the terraces a varied blue-gray surface with clearly defined joints. Broad step treads, rough-textured stone walls, and landscape boulders bring different scales of stonework into the same setting. Mulched beds, ornamental grasses, and lawn frame the paved areas without competing with the waterfront view.
